You might be better off to sell your car and buy a GT and mod that. Where I work, we do mostly kind for kind swaps, there are too many variables for my boss to risk giving a qoute on a job like yours.

i know you will have to change to an 8.8 rear end, also because you will need the new pinion flange. You will have to get new struts/shocks in the front because of the change in weight. You will need a new drive shaft, you could go ahead and get and aluminum one, but they are very cheap on new take off(steel), you will need to either get a new bumper or cut yours now for dual exhaust, is it an automatic or manual?

I think it would be more than 2k for labor

You will kill any re-sale value you have.
In states with emissions inspections the car will not pass because the engine type will not match the VIN.
Sell the car and buy a GT if that's what you want.

or, swap it out. Ya never will do anything if you don't just jump in and do it. The first one will be tough, maybe too tough. But you'll get it worked out. Every engine swap now popular has started with 1 guy saying he wanted to do it, and 50 people saying it couldn't be done. If a guy can afford to buy all the stuff, go for it. Check your local laws regarding engine swaps and VIN's and all that stuff. Make a list of everything you'll need, add 25% for the uh-oh I forgot this factor. And if you still want to do, go do it.

I gotta tell ya, i seriously thought about doing this, and the more i researched the more impracticable it became. First, you've got big things like the motor itself, new tranny- if you have an auto switch to manual, new driveshaft, 8.8 rearend- and hey, if your goin that far, mind as well get steeper gears and T-lok while its out. um, lets see, new wiring harness, larger radiator, re-locate a number of underhood items, you should prolly switch out the instrument panel for a GT, like awthoman said you'll need a gt rear bumper or notch out your existing one. I know there's stuff im forgeting. When I was checkin into it I asked my buddy what he thought because he knows his stuff (he used to work on building Saleens) he gave me a whole list of things you would have to change that most people wouldn't even think of. And then again you have to think about laws reguarding the VIN and keep in mine your insurance will go up, and if you're in an accident idk but you'll prolly have trouble collecting. Like the rest of these guys say- if you want a 4.6 then trade straight up for a GT. If i wasnt so attached to my buzzin halfdozen I would. In my case, I decided i want to keep my V6 and put money into a classic (ill still mod my 07 though )

i don't wanna sound like everyone else.. but my friend had the money and looked into it and it was gonna run him about 12k total for everything i think? if you have the money just sell and get a gt. if you wanna keep your car then go with a supercharger.

You'll need the motor, a new tranny if its a stick, bellhousing if its an automatic. Driveshaft, rear end, front springs, computer and wiring harness. It'll also require you to have a dual exhaust setup built.

As it has been said in other threads of this nature, you may encounter a lot of little things that you have to find in order to get it going.

It can't be that bad of a swap though. You're talking OEM parts into a car that they were designed to be used in. It's not like you're fabricating half of the things from scratch.
