They push back the V6 twin turbo ecofriendly engine (that was suppose to go into the mustang)to 2012 and then they stick it into the dam taurus WTF?????
FoMoCo doesn't usually have new motors come out in mustangs. They usually start in other vehicles and then they are adapted to mustang later. I don't see why they would change that trend now.

The V6 wasnt getting the ecoboost, it was getting a V6 with 300ish HP. Is that really bad?

No it wont get it, the EcoBoost will make around 360 hp and then the GTs will be sitting on the lots collecting dust.
It will however get the 3.7L 315 hp V6 and 5.0L 400 hp V8, its been talked about many times but havn't been officially confirmed yet
BTW currently the Ecoboost is desined to work on FWD cars so bringing it on the Mustang is just not gonna happen (i wish im wrong and we will get that engine).

Autoblog announced they will likely use the V6 EcoBoost engine in RWD configuration making a little more power than the transverse Flex/Taurus application and have a V8 option making upwards of 400hp. The justification being that the majority of Mustang buyers buy the V6, eventhough the diehards praise the V8. This was also discussed in the 8/18 Autoblog podcast.
I agree, though, a Mustang built without the option of a V8 is not a Mustang. But keep in mind, the EcoBoost engine is a big deal. It's direct injected AND turbo for both power and fuel economy. It's the next stage of evolution in engine designs and Ford is jumping all over it.

i hope they dont do anything. i dont want a 375 HP v6 mustang (well, i mean, of course i do, but i want to do it myself) with an engine like that do you guys really think a v6 mustang would cost 20,000 new???? not a chance. at the minimum the cost would raise by 5-7K. then what happens. are you really gonna spend 27K on a v6 mustang when a GT would cost you 30K? no. but what will more likely happen is the GT will also raise 5-7K so we are lookin at 35-40K for a midly equipped GT. ford isnt that stupid. the mustang is the backbone of ford. its basicallyl the reason Ford isnt in the gutter with chrysler and GM. giving the mustang this engine would be like committing suicide for the company. unless there were three options, a mild 250ish hp v6, a 400hp 5.0, and a special package TT 3.5 375 hp. but again, i dont beleive the TT would sell very well if this were the case. for one reason. the mustang v6 has accounted for over 70% of total mustang sales since AT LEAST 05, probably longer. why? because a mustang is a mustang. its an icon, and its an attainable icon for somebody with 20K who doesnt want 300+hp. its an economy car that has the history of a fabled legend. the average joe can go pick one up, and 60+% of the mustang owners are just that. average joes. i cant see an average joe going out and buying twin turbo mustang v6 for 30K when they can buy a luxury car with more bells and whistles for the same sticker
