Can someone tell me what this is (pony grill plug)

Here is a pick:

What is the top black plug with the blue siding? Today I installed another grill but my stock v6 pony grill plug didn't fit the grill so I took out the lights from the pony and put it in my new grill so it would plug in. I'm wondering what that black and blue plug is b/c maybe I should have plugged the new grill into there? hmmmm.....

to be clear, i used the grey plug (shown in the picture) to connect to the light in my new grill.

maybe a fog light plug for a GT?

The pony package extension harness. It allows the body harness to plug into either a GT or Pony Package foglamp.

thanks - wish i knew this yesterday b/c the connection is wrong on my end. oh well - looks like another 100 bucks on my end. : (

All you'd have to do is cut the wires and connect them to the harness, bypassing the plug. No need to buy a new harness
