Default V6 Tuner: What type of HP performance improvement do you get?

I've seen a lot of talk about tuners here on the boards. If I were to get one, what type of performance improvement do you see in reality (as opposed to on paper). Does it really feel faster? Recommendations for good ones too?

Thanks!

It wont turn it into a GT but it does give it a nice kick in the ass...maybe 15 to 20 hp...pair it up with an intake and it'll really make a difference...makes the car quite fun to drive..I bought the SCT model with a custom tune..car actually burns rubber now..Gave the car a better idle and a nice exhaust sound too!!

A tune by itself isn't going to net 15-20. You might see that in combination with an intake though.

Thanks - I've read very good things about bamachips so I would like to go there.

Here is a tuner I found however I don't see a combo. Do you have links for products you guys recommend. I'm a newb when it comes to this stuff.

EDIT - OK, I actually found it on the site if anyone is interested:

625 for both. hmmm little pricey. I guess which is more important? The tuner or intake? Not sure I have enough for both. Also - is the intake tough to install?

a tuner alone would probably net you about 10 rwhp, buy yourself a cold air intake and you're lookin at 20 give or take 2 or 3 ponies easy. not only will you notice increased power, but firmer shifts and all around better performance with a tuner.

in my opinion, if you don't have the money right now (my situation also) then you should just wait until you have it because people say it's almost like a different car with the intake and tuner. That's just what I've heard. Nothing but good comments about the combination

the jlt is compairable with the c&l in performance, and is about 100.00 less. that and the fact that if performs are why alot of us are running the jlt. a tune is required to run it. the combo is still the ticket to a good deal.

On the Bama Chips site he asks for calibration code and gives a link to find it, however when I click on the link it takes me to SCTs homepage and I can't find it on there. Does anybody here have an idea as to how I can get the clibration code for my car?
