Default Does anybody have a 235 high performance chip?

What is a 235 high performance chip, and what is the plus and minus of it? Is there one for the s197 4.0? Does anybody have one?

i think you`ll find most people steer clear of any chips. a good tuner is the way to go. a combo cai/tuner/custom tunes is a good cash savings setup. its still not cheap, but in the long run much better.

i never tried a chip. thought about it when i first got my car but glad i went with the tuner. from what ive read, they just trick the computer a little to try and get some improvements. where as adding a bigger intake, and getting a complete custom tune will give you oodles more performance and will also retune the shift( if you have a auto) and give you the best you can get. it can also reprogram other things if you make some changes in the future, like different size tires, gears, other mods ect. ive heard of factory chips that claim to add some spunk. they are pretty cheap so if you try one, be sure and post on it.

My brother in law added one to his 01 v6 auto. He said it gave him more torq. That a ford dealer installed it for 35.00 and kept the old one and said that it was no good once removed.
I was just wondering I've got an 07 v6 auto. and I've got an cai on the way.

i know a guy that put a chip in a dodge truck and said it added some power. if you have a cai coming that requires a tune, your gonna need a tuner and tune before you run it. if it doesnt require a tune, you`ll be ok but you wont get much out of it. it will look cool though
