Hey guys, I installed my supercharger on my car, X-charger from explorer express, however, after about 2000 miles my car started dieing/stalling when i come to a stop anywhere. My car is automatic I know that there is a TSB about shuttering/stall acceleration after long trips, I never got that fixed and it has happened to me atleast 40 times before supercharger. Anyone think that this can be linked to my stalling? I am not going on long trips it happens more and more anytime. I took it to Dallas Mustang shop, and they can NOT find the problem either they referred me to that TSB.... My car has 59k miles and if i lose it, I cant afford another mustang, and I love mustangs.... help me
best bet...if there is a TSB i would take it to ford and just pay the 70 bucks for the diag. then have it fixed yourself or somewhere else or even have ford fix it

the reason for stalling is air bubbles building in your fuel pump and fuel lines as you drive on long trips. then when it idles it catches those bubbles and chokes on them. its happened to my car only a handfull of times, but only after a 3 hour trip or more. hasnt happened for a year or so now. a few other people have had the same issue, doesnt seem to affect others. must be some kind of lemon problem. you can get a new one(upgrade to a gt500) which mean lots of money, or buy the kenne bell boost a pump. there is a video on youtube about it, actually another guy from fort worth tx that installed it. said it solved his problem. looks like a very straight forward install as well. might look into that.

Well the problem with that is my car now has a Custom tune on it and no dealership can get into my ecu, returning it to stock will not let the car start at all. I think it has to do with more fuel being dumped in causeing more bubble to form maybe, I do notice it stalls more when the tank is over 1/2 full.... wierd.

its "boosts your pump" haha. no really, with all of the electrical components in a car...lights dash radio speakers, it takes a lot of amps to keep everything running. adding a boost a pump will add amperage to your fuel pump alone i believe, and makes it more efficient by pumping more fuel at wot, in theory getting rid of the bubble problem. thats all from what i have understood from ancaparon on youtube and what iv read. It activates only at full throttle or boost,(comes with a control knob) so it doesn’t “bloat” or “overload” the fuel system at idle or cruise where full time pumps and extra fuel are not required. they use em on super snakes and a bunch of other high performance cars as well. also install is easy, you only cut one wire and swap a fuse in your fuse box. comes with everything you need. i might need one after my x install

also with the x..DO NOT use any other tune than the X tune that comes from doug studdard from bama chips. no one else can tune like him when it comes to the X charger, hes been around em forever now and knows his stuff. theres also been a few "custom tuned" x charged cars blow up.

Not necessarily true. I have 2 of Dougs tunes, they are good, but they dont take into consideration altitude or your specific location. They are "Generic" for the Xcharger. You might have to adjust them ,as I did, to get the proper mixture. Mine were both on the rich side,,,for safety I am sure.
(and I still cant crack 100 mph with either of em)
and mine still coughs out after long drives...fuel pump thing but out of warranty. Just turned 30,000 miles but an 06. No help from ford either...they deny the problem,,never heard of it. Print out the TSB and make em read it..lol
Mine did the same thing.Took it to dealer under warranty.Installed new GT fuel pump.No problems since. They new about the TSB and the pump problem.Hope you get your's fixed.

im just going off what iv gotten from dave vanek. told me to use just the tune from doug. it has a lot of safe parameters built in, and a lot of things can be accounted for if you tell him. he will update your tune for free as well if you have a problem with it, and make adjustments for altitude if you specify. i must be running on a longer race track with shorter traps(not possible) cuz im runninf 14.8s consistantly on stock wheels with a trap speed of 93-95. im better be breaking 100 when i do my x install

Well guys, The place i got my car tuned at called doug and got his tunes. The problem continues, i need to see if it might be from full throttle or if it does it when my gas tank is over 1/2 full... No One can figure out what is wrong. He also said, That Kenne Bell Boost-A-Pump might not do anyhting becuase they would have caught a Fuel pressure code, or sumthin... I might have to just sell my baby
