Default '05 V-6 Auto & 3rd gear????
I bought a '05 V6 w/ the 5 speed auto a few yrs ago w/ 16K miles on the odometer. Since day one, when placed in 3rd gear via the shift lever it only start out in 3rd gear, not the 1st, 2nd, 3rd gear sequence that my other vehicles do. Is this normal for the rest of you!

Question withdrawn, did search and found the 3 gear lock is normal. Never heard of such a poor design, expecially on a performance car (GT model), what was Ford thinking?

yeah, every mustang does that, even my 85 auto does
