getting rid of your spare tire and installing a lighter exhaust system i guess... Might also consider not filling up your fuel tank past half full, perhaps.

could considers an aluminum drive shaft, and taking out the spare tire is good. rear seat delete kit looks nice w/o making it look gutted.

A rear seat delete kit will save you some weight. Some other stuff would be to loose the spare and jack as Alpha said.
Other than that, you could try a lightweight battery. Those run a pretty penny but are less than half the weight of a standard battery. Use a relocation kit to move that battery from the engine bay to the trunk. It doesn't cut any weight but it moves some to rear tires for better traction.
Other than that... Gut the stereo system and remove your A/C system if you are serious about loosing some pounds.
Also, stay away from gas with lots of trans-fats.

i did every thing redlyr said except battery and i am doing the ac soon maby. My girl got in my car and said who stole your interior haha it was funny cause i stripped my car down to the metal from the rear seats to the trunk...its wierd cus i noticed i can hear my gas tank splash around...so much lighter you can feel it.

can any one suggest a beefy yet very light battery?

what kind of metal would be used in a light wheight exhuast system such as pipes and all?

oh which reminds me ive been wanting to look into a bigger gas tank for those raod trips i love to take =)

Everything you do going to loose weight here are some aprroximates numbers for loss.

Approx 19lbs from driveshaft

Depending on exhuast you can loose about 35 and up you loose approx 15lbs from just the mufflers

LCA you loose about 5lbs total between the two if you go tubular and depending ont the metal

Rear Seat delete does not help I would notsuggest it the weight they tell is 100% false and should be stopped you loose maybe 5lbs.

Racing Seats you could loose between 40-50lbs total.

Hope this helps.

roush makes carbon fiber qtr panels...but id hate to get in a wreck...theres no fixing that . your drive shaft is a good one so spend some money and go aluminum...spare and jack, racing seats is a good one, lighter wheels is also something you may look into

unless your going to put your car on a major diet, race seats, this that and other! why bother, are you going racing for a living, you could spend alot of money for this diet to have a 200 lbs lose on a v6.
not nocking the v6,i got one, just not worth it imo.
go with a cai with a tune
good luck

This is a shot in the dark but I think an aluminum radiator will shed some pounds and cool better to boot.

You might be able to replace some engine accessories and bracketry with lighter versions.

fleshmcfilth123 jokes about cutting the roof off but actually if you cut the bulk of the roof out you could replace it with a retractable canvas panel, there's a company somewhere that makes a kit for that..can't remember the name but I believe it's a universal kit.

Lighter seats are good but you may want to invest in a passenger seat that you can quickly remove for racing, it might be as easy as adding wing nuts.

I don't know how much the stock spoiler weighs but you can probably do without it...

That's all I can think of for now

You want a stripped-out, lightened up car to be a fun daily driver, and 600 HP out of the V6..? Not asking for much... Keep your V6 S197 nearly stock and looking good, then find a straight Fox Body to gut and play with... I understand they go very well with a 383" Chevy Mouse stuffed in 'em.

Sliding Ragtop 35 x 40 Inches by Streetbeatcustoms

This is an example of the ragtop kit I was talking about. There may be other manufacturers or places with better prices. Don't know how much the roof weighs but I think there's potential
