I'm thinking of getting a t lok for my car and I'm wondering if you can use the gears from the stock differential? What is the ratio of the stock gears? What ratio do you recommend for a daily driver? I don't want to go too tall...

If you daily drive alot and/or want to up the power later you should get a 8.8 rear end with 3.55 gears. They are a little steeper than now so you will feel a little more get up and go. But you will have a stouter rear and a tlok. Installaition will be easier and cheaper.

imo going from 331 to 355 you wont feel much if anything

If it's an auto,I'd go with 3:73.That way you can still get fairly good MPG'S for highway driving and long trip's.Stl or anyone else, correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure that at 70MPH with 3:73 rearend, you would be running about 200-250 more rpm's in overdrive as compared to the stock 3:31's with the auto.Just my 2 cents worth.

may be 5-10 miles per tank still getting around 275-300 miles per tank
so it dependson ur trans, they are geared differently thats why 373 manual and 410 auto are just about the same
i got the 3.73 for my auto, yet to be installed. i hope your right about that cause that doesnt sound too bad. i should be sacrificing even less than the 4.10 then, while increasing the zoom zoom

I got 4.10's on my 06 v6 Supercharged auto. It is awsome.
1st-all burn out
2nd gear-churps
3rd- churps
4th-you can feel the car want to churp but your traveling at 80 already
mike, alias Amustangrocks. You picked the right gears IMHO for the auto.At 70mph you should be turning appox.200-250 tops in OD as compared to the 3:31's.My guesstimate, maybe 1-2 mpg less. With 4:10's,3-5mpg less.4:10's are a great gear for the street/strip,but not for highway driving or long trips.3:73's will still get you moving pretty quick and still get you good mpg on the highway. If you can,see what rpm's your turning at 65-70mph with the 3:31's.Then add 200-250 tops to that with the 3:73's.I'm still pulling hard in 3rd gear at 80 on a WOT stomp down with 3:31 stock gears. Also,if you have different size tires on the rear than the stock size will make a difference also.Do you have a gear calculator? You can find one on the internet.Hope this helps everyone.

ya, my car is still pulling pretty good in 3rd and shifts into 4rth at 90 mph with the 3.31. so the 4.10 shifts about 80 mph,,i`ll have to wait and see what the 3.73 does. ive seen those calculators you spoke of floating around, i might even have one bookmarked. i did go to 235/60-16 which is just a little taller i think but still close to stock. i read a post on a diff forum last night. the guy was taking his 4.10`s out. he said it wasnt safe of wet roads and useless in the snow. i`m glad we dont get much snow here and ive got the old beater 4x4 for when we do

I would never go less than a 4:10 great snap with reasonable mileage. I am now considering a 4:30 for track use maybe a 4:56.
Depending on your car the manual 05-06 models came with 3:55's where all the autos came with 3:31's, going from a 3:31 to a 3:55 is a waste of money as much as going from a 3:55 to a 3:73 is. If you have 3:31's no less than a 3:73 just to get some of your moneys worth same goes for a 3:55 swap no less than a 4:10 otherwise you will never notice a difference.

The V6 has 3:31's auto and manual, there were no other options. GT's had 3:31/3:55's 05/06
