Default question about my exhaust

I own a 2008 Ford Mustang with a v6. I thought its about time to upgrade its exhaust and put a flowmaster on it. Since i really don't want to change the whole underside of my mustang, I have decided to keep it simple and get one flowmaster. Although, I don't know what to get since, first off, not so great with models and only know some of the basic tech of cars. Second, i like aggressive sounds, but i like quality in the sound. I really dont want to do much other than just do a quick change out, i dont want to change any pipes on the underside of my car and i certainly dont want to have to do more than simply, change some screws out(if you know what I mean).

I would really appreciate it if someone could please help me out.

Also, with a v6, how aggressive can you actually go with one flowmaster? videos, sound clips, etc.?

Humm... I personally don't hear of an aggressive from most Flowmaster pipes with muffler only setups, but its all a matter of taste.

I have a GT with what may be one of the most aggressive axleback (muffler only) kits available, the MAC Boomtubes (only the SLP Loudmouths are louder/angrier in my opinion, which are basically a straight-up muffler delete.)

The Boomtubes are a muffler delete with a minimal amount of muffling in the tubes that eliminates any "airy" or "raspy" sounds and produces almost pure engine music without any filler. They're incredible. My car is completely stock and everyone who hears it thinks I put in some kind of big block monster.

A V6 obviously is not the same as a V8, but I have heard some pretty killer sounding V6 engines in my time. I don't know if the Boomtube for V6 would be your thing, but I liked the way it sounded.

Along with Boomtubes, I would YouTube search Mustang V6 (make sure the year is 2005-2010) with each of the following brands: Flowmaster, Magnaflow, MAC, JBA, Ford Racing, Borla, Bassani, SLP, Pypes. I would also search "V6 Mustang custom exhaust" and find videos with the right year.

I strongly recommend doing a lot of research and really shopping for this, I took almost 4 months to pick my exhaust and could not be happier.

Its a very simple install, just take the old muffler off and put the new one on in its place. About 4 bolts total.

Go with a set of GT take-off mufflers and hang them both!!! You get the look of dual w/o the expense and a decent sound. Going any louder with a muffler only advertises that you have a V6. Don't be fooled, you're not going to make a 6 sound like an 8 no matter how many will try to convince you otherwise on this board. You can look like a GT w/ improved performance and sound for less than $100, including the extra hangers.

There's no doubt that a V6 will never sound like a V8, but there are still some mean sounding V6's out there. For the time being I'm satisfied with my setup- Flowmaster single axle-back (17421) and Pypes shoty headers. It's no V8 but sounds pretty decent. I'm getting a JLT cold air intake w/ SCT3 tune and dual flowmasters next (also thinking about side pipes from Shelby like on the Terlingua, just not sure about it and can't find very much information on the matter). Dual Flowmasters will obviously give a more aggressive sound and the cai will help decrease the "poppyness" from the V6. Personally I dont care much for the GT takeoffs. Sure you'll have a GT look but if you want to upgrade your stock parts, why swap them out for stock parts from a different car...just my opinion.

I have a single SLP powerflo on my 05 V6. It sounds amazing. Give it a week of warm up and burn that fiberglass off and it just screams down the road. Look at the youtube of slp powerflo for the s197 years. You might like it
