I just bought a non functional hood scoop along with side scoops for my mustang a couple weeks ago from american muscle. I had them painted and put on but one thing i noticed as soon as I got them was there was no inserts like mesh or anything that came with them and it looks kinda stupid without them b/c it looks really fake and I cant seem to find anywhere to get inserts for them so if someone knows where I can get some and can help me out that would be great. Thanks
check with 05horse. he has that scoop on his car. i like that scoop and almost bought it but went with the roush cause it bolts on. look for the xenon website and contact them direct. maybe they can hook you up. worth a try anyway

When you had it painted, did they paint the front inset surface too? Or did they mask it and leave it black? In the pic on AM, it looks like they left the front inset black and shot the rest of the scoop to match the car. Not a bad look, and no inserts required. Just a thought!

that is why i dont like non of these accessories. even on some OEM cars (with the exception of a few)they look stupid being non-functional
at the least i'll do like you are saying and put mesh in it

ya, the roush comes with a black insert that clips to the scoop and bolts to the hood. with it all blacked out on the inside you cant even see it really. heres a link to the install for the roush. http://www.allfordmustangs.com/forum...all-part1.html

man i like having the scoop. looks cool on the outside, has that racy hot rod look, and is really cool from the inside while driving. way nicer than that boring flat hood

on the am site, it doesnt show a filler for the hood scoop, but clearly shows fillers for the side scoops in the pic with the tape and cleaner. if you dont have those, somebody screwed up.

No i had them paint it all only b/c the material it is made out of that like hard platic or rubber material doesnt look ood at all left plain so i had to paint it
but ya l like the look it gives that aggresive style to it but dont like it without some kind of blackout or mesh inserted
and I will have to call AM about those side scoops thanks. that would still leave me to find inserts for the hood
So I called up american muscle about the side scoops they said it doesnt come with them but then i told the guy i can see the pic of them that DOES come with them on their website so he corrected himself and said yes the do come with it and he will send them right out to me, Then I called Xenon about the hood scoop and they told me inserts ARE suppose to come with the hood scoop and I should have gotten them with it even though american muscle says otherwise so they are also sending me inserts right away i don't know whats up with american muscle not sending me any inserts but im getting them now.
