Hi all,
Quick question: Is the Diablo (or any other for that matter) worth the cost?
I am an old 70's racer, so all the computer stuff is new to me (as far as performance boost's), so I guess I am just asking for opinion's, results, or any other information I can gather.
I think I want one, but I guess I just want to justify the cost.
Thanks for the support.
ya man i bought a diablo and it crapped out on me so i returned and got a new one now it says the apllication is missing or corupt it cost me 385 no tunes on it and its just not that great i do hear bedder things about the sct they cost like 500 with three great tunes already downloaded on it. dont go diablo, go sct u will be much happyier. u can check a engine light instead of payin someone, turn on and off traction controll, do timing, all kinds of fun stuff it will keep u at the track all day figuren out what works best good luck
I know they are pricey, but worth it. The computer controls so much nowadays you have to have one and they are easy to use. The best deal is to get a cold air intake (CAI) and tuner combo package.

I use the SCT and I love it. I have also used a diablo and I like it just as well and have heard several good things about the brand. I think a tuner is a great mod, so I would say definitely do it.

american muscle has good deals.
ya u can change shift poins and rev limit my first time i gained well lost .3 on my quarter time and went from 15mpg to 19mpg
I noticed something about custom on one, and pre-loaded on another.
I am going to buy one!!
It will be an SCT tuner. NOW.....please make suggestions as towhich one I should buy. Remember, unfortunately I am on a limited budget, but want quality. I don't want to buy one, and later wish I had bought another model.
I can see already I want to buy from American Muscle.
The tunes from American Muscle are "Canned Tunes." You can go to Bama Chips web site and look what he has for the V6.Doug is a very good tuner and alot of the guys on this site has his tunes. He will write the tunes for your car. Also look at Tillman speed web site.Just a couple for you to check out. Also,if you still have the stock muffler on,get rid of it.The cheapest way to go is the GT take-off muffler.Adds about 5-10 more HP.Hope this helps you.

The SCT XCal 3 is the one you want, but I strongly recommend Bamachips. Both American Muscle and Bamachips offer custom tunes, however Bamachip tunes have been proven to offer more HP due to Dougs extended experience as a tuner. AM is AWESOME, so don't get me wrong, but Bama has them beat on the tunes. Make sure you get a high octane race tune, it will blow your mind. And yes it was a good investment.

tillman speed and american muscle, and brenspeed are site sponsors, and you will get a little discount. as posted earlier, for about 500, you can get the jlt cai/ sct tuner/ and 3 custom tunes combo, and is a good deal. the sf has canned tunes( one size fits all) and will hold 3 custom tunes. the x3 just will just hold 3 custom tunes which is just fine for me. i got the combo from tillman. he will also upgrade your tunes if you make any small changes in the future for free. bamachips write some killer tunes too, which you can get any time and load onto the tuner. just make sure when you buy the combo, you have them email you the tunes so you can save them on your computer or disk. you can switch tunes on your tuner that way to try different tunes

I Think A Great Tuner That Also Is A Monitor/guage That Stays Connected Is A Bully Dog GT Gas, I Thought Bully Dog Only Did DSL truck stuff Untill I Met With The Rep. Then I Found Out There GT Tuner Also Comes With A Mounting Braket So You Can Use The 3inch Screen As A Monitor For EGT See If Your Running Lean....Even Has A Mode As A Speedo. And Of Course It Tunes Shift Points And Everything Else That Everyone Else Does, It Can Be Adjusted On The Fly And Even has An Economy Mode To save You gas On THe way To The Track...And Best Of All Downloads And Upgrades Are free.....And It Will Cost You About The Same As Another Tuner That you Cant Use As A Monitor/guage....... Part Number From Bully Dog Is. 40410 Im Not A Rep Or Anything, Just Work With Aftermarket And Think It Definatly Deserves A look.....And Of Course SCT Is Awesome For Mustangs I Hear But I Dont Know Much About Them. Truth Is Any Tune You Get Will Greatly Help Your Performance. Just Do Your Homework And Explore All options So you Feel You get Whats Right For You.
