Angry Fuel level on 2005 V6 Mustang has gone crazy

friend and i was racing his gt with my v6 both stock my fuel level was about half and we ran the cars three time quarters. after that i turned of my car turned it back on and it went under empty. after that its acting to where its pointing to the black no markings section...oh and low fuel light does work...what is it then?

Sometimes the sensor can have problems. It happened to me a couple times a few years ago and was blamed on high sulphur fuel. Hasn't happend since. It may also be the sensor itself gone bad.

it's an 05 v6.. no surprise. they've been known for problems like this. most likely a bad sensor

I had the same problem. I asked some dude at a ford dealership and he said its because of the dirty gas (like the that other dude said, the sulfur) Anyways they said to use Chevron gas or dump that fuel additive stuff. They said they wouldn't do anything.
Im beginning to hate the dealership. My mustang is my first real car. I love the mustang but i hate the customer service ive reiceved at the dealerships

Anyways ya, thats what i found out. So run a couple tanks of that techron crap or whatever its called. I still have the problem everynow and then though. -good luck
