Default Problem with Locking & Anti Theft

Hey guys well let me tell you my story. I have an '06 mustang which was involved in an accident...some girl smashed into my right side as i was passing her on the side and totally destroyed the right side fender and scratched the car all the way to the back...

My Doors were locking perfectly before and after the accident with the remote. One press would lock and two presses would beep the horn and flash the lights real quick. Here is where the thing gets messed up. I dropped off my car at a body shop to get repaired and after about a week I got the car back looking perfect.

I get home, park the car and when I am about to leave the car I hit the remote twice to lock the doors and hear the beep like I am used to hearing... Instead I get this: the doors lock and I get 2 beeps and my lights don't flash... wtf? I am not sure if the locking anti theft is working correctly anymore? would disconnecting the battery for a long period of time mess that up? would it need reprogramming? I am just concerned because I get no indication the doors are actually locked...I have to physically check them both now everytime its driving me crazy... I hope someone can chime in please. Thx

The double beep is to indicate that something, ie. a door or the trunk is not closed all the way. I do believe that the doors should still lock when this happens. The double beep is just a warning, nothing else.

I'm thinking that the accident may have damaged the sensor that indicates you door is fully closed so your car 'thinks' that a door is still open.

I am not sure. I don't think that sensor is visible. I do believe it is built in to the black connecting rod used to hold the door in place when the door is open. At the moment I am not near my car so I can't go look.

Maybe someone else could chime in with its location. I'm sure someone must know.

my guess, from an electrical standpoint, is that the impact damaged the sensor. It could be something as simple as a loose solder joint and could be impossable to detect with the naked eye. Does your car have a message center? If it does a faulty sensor is going to display door ajar. Also, check your fuses, could be something simple ya know?

yeah it has the message center, when i open the doors it correctly displays which one is open and when I close it, it goes away. hmm I havent checked the fuses but I doubt thats it or else the remote locking and unlocking wouldn't work? Im kinda confused...not sure if the keyless entrey is included with the anti theft system.

Update: Well today I was playing around with it and I locked the car with the remote while I was sitting inside...waited about 20 seconds for the thing to arm and so I decided to move around and the Horn starts going off like crazy. It seems like it working after all? I just don't get the flashing lights and the one beep. still the 2 quick beeps. I am really confused now :S
