Question Strange Sound Coming From Engine Bay

Hey guys I turned on my car this morning and I started hearing this noise coming from the engine. Its like a squeaky sound that starts off really fast and gradually starts slowing down until it disappears after the engine is warm. It sounds to me like it is coming from the front so it could be a pulley on its way out but I'm no mech. How can I find out which one is making that noise?

Open the hood and see if you can pinpoint the area it's coming from.

Probably just a worn belt. Try some belt dressing first (shucks, cragen, or pep boys caries it), if it persists, then look at buying and installing a new belt.

belt problems happen every so often. And since the engine starts up initially at a higher idle and then slows down once the engine warms up a bit, i think its your belt or pulley since it is correlated to the sound.

3 bolts on the tensioner. Just remove belt tension and remove and replace.

the belts last a long time. check with it running if the crank pulley looks in line or if its moving. lots of crank pulleys come apart, had to replace mine. it would cause the belt to squeel too.
