Default oil change for my first time. need help.

I plan on changing my stang's oil for my first time. (I'm tired of paying $60 for full synthetic oil) What size socket would I need for the drain plug? Can someone post a picture of where the drain plug is located?

Mustangs, - StepBySteps try reading that. It may not be for ths s197 but it will give you a clue what your doing. Also, try googling for the specifics you need.

Look for the big black bolt and unloosen her. Just watch out for the oil that cames out lol. It can happen to get everywhere.

and i would not do a oil chnage on a windy day. lol. Just speaking from experience.

i jack my car up enough i can slide under there on my creeper with my oil pan and a box end wrench, a rag and the new filter box. crack the bolt loose, and unscrew it by hand while keeping pressure on the bolt till i know its unscrewed all the way, then get my pan in position, a quick move of the bolt, and minimal oil on my hand which i wipe off with the rag and the bolt. let it drain then wipe the oil pan and install the bolt. dont brake you arm off tightning it. slide the oil pan over a little and go for the filter. if you can unscrew it and keep it level, you wont spill much. lower it down and pour it into the pan then i set it in the box( from the new filter). make sure the old gasket is off, wipe some used oil onto the new filter gasket with your finger and screw it on and tighten it pretty tight but only with your hand. some guys like to put some new oil into the filter before you put it on. its not a bad idea, though i dont do it. fill it up. pour your used oil into something and take it to about any auto parts to get rid of.

i can verify the 13mm socket, thats the one you need for the plug. you might want to purchase a socket thing for your oil filter too. chances are the shop that was doing your oil changes was putting the filter on wayyy too tight, and its going to be a sucker to get off there without the oil filter socket.
