That happened to me in my pickup once. I couldn't feel the gas pedal so I quickly looked down and noticed the floor mat covering it...
Of course I had a little more time to react since it is only a 4 banger.
Glad you are ok.

Glad youre OK.
I wish you had'nt said that as I was thinking the EXACT same thing last night, I CHEATED DEATH and now it's after me, I guess if I do go for that long ride, I'd prefer it be in My Mustang, I love that car!

Hey, when your times up it's up. I know a fellow that was sitting on his front porch. His house is about 100 yds BACK from the road. A guy fell asleep at the wheel. ran down the road, hit a bank and jumped the car Up onto the porch. killed him.
You did the best thing by Crawling back onto your Horse and taking her for a ride. stuff happens live and learn
Well I firgured out why the floor mat was over the gas pedel, as this was bothering me. A day befor I took the Mustang out I was cleaning it, there was some dirt on the floor mat so I took it out and cleaned it. When I put it back in I guess I never placed it under the gas pedel, I just slid it in.
The floor mat has grabbers on the bottom so it wont slip, and it is long, if I would have placed it back in correctly I probably would'nt have had the problem. But regardless, the new Factory one's are on the was.
I just figured I'd let everyone know it was my fault, simple but almost deadly!

Living in Alaska with all the snow I have truck type rubber mats prtecting my floors. They slide up and lock the pedal down if you floor it. So I have got more careful about dragging on the street. I have also become adept at reaching down for the back corner and pulling the mat back. Saw some recently by WeatherTech Automotive Accessories - Car Mats, Floor Mats, Cargo Liners, Side Window Deflectors and More that clip to the factory system. Spendy but its your life.
