That isn't "exactly" the oil drain plug, but it is on the bottom of the engine, NOT the tranny. Look at the bottom of the picture, the black flange you see is where the oil drain plug is. Those plugs you see can drain the oil, but they will not drain it all the way.
Is there any way you can get a picture that is panned out a little more? Then we all can look and go "Ohhhhhhh...I know what that is..."

That's not the drain plug. it's a bolt that holds the bottom of the aluminum housing together. bolted to that is the oil pan. It is black steel with a plug coming out the side at the bottom. the hole your friend drained from must have left at least a qt. of old oil in. changing most oil is better than none but next time you'll now.

your trans fluid is most likely not red any more. at 50k, mine was black as dirty motor oil. i saw those plugs on my car last week when i was under there. cant say what they are for though.

i posted earlier in this thread how to attach pics in your post. once you do it once, you can go crazy with the pics
