Default GT wheels on V6?

so, i used the search feature and could not find a direct answer.
i dont like the stock wheels on my '05 v6 and there are a lot of people selling almost brand new wheels from 05-09 GTs in my area. this is a much less expensive way to get the looks i want since im not into no spinners or whatever. will these wheels fit my car without any modification or do i need bigger brakes and what not?

1. They will fit.

2. Your speedometer will be off.

You'll need to ask someone else on specifics on getting the speedometer changed to the larger size wheel.

oh they will fit..i can jus take it to ford and have them make the necessary adjustments if anything. thanks for the info!

would going from 16" to 17" wheels slow my car down at all though?
cuz if so then hell no, thread cancelled and a big nevermind.

They'll fit, I put 18" wheels on mine with no problem. Not to mention the 10"width in the back, you got nothing to worry about... Besides tightening them correctly

They fit fine. And speedometer will not be off as long as you get tires with the right outer diameter.

yeah, if the overall diamiter of the rim/tire is the same, then it will rotate the same as your current wheels. Meaning no speedo change and no actual speed change. However if the overal diamiter is taller or shorter it will effect the speedo becouse your basicly messing with the rato of engine revolutions to tire revolutions.

16's to 17's won't really slow it down any noticable amount

V6 cars with the pony package have 17" gt rims with no problems.

they are the same car basically with a little on the actual chasis it's mainly engine and drivetrain that the differences are located for future reference.

Hoods, rims, tires and thing that will fit the GT that does not involve the engine or dirvtrain although you can witch out some of these parts to the gt version to aquire certain parts.

You will be required to purchase wheel stops from Ford in order for the wheels not to rub. I'm not sure the exact part number, but it can be found on FRPP's site. Other then that, the gt wheels will fit just fine.

I put 17s on my V6 car with out any problems at all , The speedometer was checked using a GPS and it was only 2 mph slower ,, I did not need any kind of stops either ,, You might think about getting the New Take off GT front Brakes now as you will have enough room to use them ,, Just a thought Enjoy
