YEs, that is true. To a point.

IAW the Moss-Magnusen Warrenty act, they can void any portion of the warrenty that could be adversly affected by the tuner. For example, if your ECU takes a dump, it's your bill. But, if the master cylinder springs aleak, it's still covered.

It would be very rare for something to go wrong with a tune to cause damage if it were a professional tune. If there is a problem, it can be returned to the stock tune. It would have to be a problem directly associatd with your tune for the warranty to be void.

If you return it to the stock tune, disconnect the battery for about half hour, they shouldn't be able to tell.

Yes, the tuners leave a foot print behind. Ford isn't stupid, they know what we do with these cars, and they know some owners are not all that bright. Too much timing and cheap fuel = broken pistons. They don't want to pay for it if it's not their fault. I agree with that.

my check engine light got tripped by it. it's a rare but known problem with the bbk but is easily solved by putting a higher octane gasoline (91 or 93) in your gas tank reguardless of a tune.

Tuning will not void the warranty but can cause warranty claim denial.

Simple rule to follow when performing modificaitons when a car is under warranty whether its the factory bumper to bumper, or federal or state emmisions part, is do it at your own risk.

Depends on on how you use the tuner. The big differance between the factory tune and the aftermarket tune is the timing curve. Too much timing - and not enough octane - will cause detonation. Detonation can destroy an engine pretty fast.
