can i put a single oem muffler from a gt on my 07 v6 with a pony pak.if so ,will there be any mods.also later i might go with a super charger, will a single gt muffler work alright?
Personally, I have a GT takeoff muffler on my car and I think it sounds great. It was a VERY cheap way to get about 5-10 horses and it looks good to boot!
i agree with 08v6, really ask yourself what you want your car to sound like. because i didnt at first, and i bought a single muffler....well, less than 2 months later i threw that out the window and went for duals. if i was to do it all over again, i would not even THINK about single exhaust.
but to answer your question, yes a gt muffler will bolt right up with no other mods, and it will work fine with a supercharger.

I just switched out my noisy high drone Pypes Street Pro Mufflers for a pair of nice n polished GT500 take off's from ebay ($35)! If you really want good sound get a dual exhaust, but if you want to stay with single, I like the American Thunders and the JBA's reasonably priced too

Mods: Air Raid cold air intake, Air Raid throttle body spacer, Pypes shorty headers, Pypes true dual kit (x-pipe), GT500 Take off mufflers, Ford Racing 3.73 gears and Bamachips 91 Torque Tune.
I love the sound of my GT muffler. My bro-in-law (former mustang GT owner) even likes it, says it sounds like a meaner Z/G35 just cause I've got a bigger engine. It makes the mustang v6 sound like it should have from the factory, a sporty six cylinder sound with a bit of muscle behind it. I love to start the car with my driver door still open, sounds beefy.

thanks for all the help.now i'll just have to decide if i want to cut out a hole on the drivers side bumper for duals, or stay with the single exhaust.i want a noticable strong tone, but nothing obnoxious.
I'd have to say a noticeable strong tone that isn't obnoxious is Borla all the way. Not to come down on the guys with Pypes exhaust, but that is an obnoxious tone. Youtube is sometimes your best friend when looking for exhaust tones. Sometimes it's not when you can't find what you are looking for.

the pypes street pros are annoying, but if you go violators, you wont be disappointed. i would know, ive had both

me stick to me cherrybomb vortex. the new ones are up there in terms of quality once again. when i called my exhaust guy and told him i bought a cherrybomb vortex muffler..all i hear was a big sigh lol. then he put it on and started it up + rev..guy couldnt stop smiling. he told me its one of best sounds he's heard on the 4.0..and he does mustangs only..so..
there is no noisy ricy crackling scream when u start up, just a thick roar..turns into a nice low pitch deeeeeeep rumble and it sounds beautiful at WOT..no rice cooking sounds. the rumble at idle is so deep and smooth that there is no popping at all, even if there is its just drowned out. the rumble doesnt go away. bringing the 60's back
i got mine for $216 CAD.
im definitely not saying its the absolute best, but it does sound amazing.

Im With limedout On This One....I Have A Cherry Bomb GlassPack On Mine And Everyone Just asks, WHY? When I Tell Them Then I Start The Car And They Cant belive Its A Cherry Bomb....And For The Price Difference Between That And The Borla...You Will Still Have Enough Money Left Over For Instal Fees, A tank of gas To get To The Track...Track Entry Fee..And Lunch For you And The Old Ball And Chain. But the Borla System Aint Bad If You Got The Money.

I just did the same thing a few days ago and I do like the sound. Today is the first day without rain since making the change so I haven't had the opportunity to hear them with the top down. Now that I have it takes some getting used to hearing exhaust directly behind me but I like it a lot anyway!!! Next stop, BBK CAI and maybe a throttle body (will decide on the latter after more research).
