think about it, unless i get a supercharger, no way im getting anywhere close to 300 HP.. and believe me i'm not getting a supercharger. this is fine for me. i love the car, all i hate is how it shifts. its sucks how there are absolutely no manual v6's around here. its literally always stuck in that O/D and takes forever to downshift. my dads hyundai tucson downshifts quicker from O/D. accelerating in O/D feels like ur driving a tractor.

i been doing that, i usually turn it off along with tcs when i start the car. it pulls like crazy as the rpms shoot up quicker too..but i looked up some threads about O/D here and a lot of people say its ok and some say it'll destroy the tranny. i dunno what to listen to. no other car ive driven has ever had an O/D off button lol.

if the only downside of O/D off is a little lower gas mileage, im fully ok with that. the performance makes up for it

you can get an 8.8 from newtakeoffs for around 900. theres no labor to it, its a direct swap for the 7.5. tok 2 hours for me with hand tools and jackstands. imo get the 8.8. its a fresh rearend and its a lot stronger for when u decide to do more serious mods...such as a blower or a turbo. trust me i juggled this same question and went with the 8.8. its simply the best bang for your buck

u know what bruh, i was just thinking about it. i wont do these mods until march or so anyway, because its gonna start snowing here soon enough and innn goes the stang. im gonna save up ATLEAST 3 grand, minimum, by then, and come to think of it the 8.8" isnt really that much more in terms of cost, whats another 300-400 when im modding it anyway. what the heck was i thinking? this 7.5" vibrates when in O/D sometimes, who knows the darn thing might break down and then my gears and t-lok will be useless. i think im just gonna go for the 8.8" with all the goodies already built in.

thanks for all the replies erryone! u guys solved my problem within 48 hours i see the light!
