Procharger makes an excellent supercharger (they aren't in the turbocharger game).... as does Vortech. Explorer's Express's X-charger, a roots type supercharger, will be out at the beginning of June too. Dyno's on the X-charger prototype are nearly even with a stock Mustang GT. There will be a hi-po option out shortly after the first version is released. The Procharger and the Vortech will have you smokin' stock and lightly modded 05+ Mustang GT's.
PHP has the only turbocharger out at the moment. It's making tremendous power with fairly low boost. It'll put you in the 12's in the quarter mile pretty easily. PHP's own car is in the 11's.
Most will want to have these sorts of forced induction options to be professionally installed... though, there's a few adventurous types who have done the install themselves. Out of all of them, the X-charger will be the most simple to install.
Along with just the install of the hardware, you'll want a dyno tune.
From reports on the various mustang boards, gas mileage is about the same, given similar driving habits.
