When the new body style mustangs came out a year or so ago, I have noticed this little thing mostly on the 2005's that first came out. Some early prod 05' V6's I have seen came with dual exhaust standard and some havent. I certainly know the 06 have a single exhaust. Why is that some early prod 05's V6's came out with dual exhaust? Were they deemed to be a GT but then the build order changed? Btw- Sound is a bit better if anyone has heard a V6 with factory dual exhaust.

Mine came off the lot with dual exhaust. A lot of dealers installed a GT kit on the V6s.

The reason is because I saw an interview and they said for another exhaust it would cost them too much money and that's why they switched the v6 to single, they'll loose money for dual on v6

I think they left duals off the v6 to further differentiate it from the GT. cosmetically not much is different from the v6 with the exceptions of small things that non car enthusiasts might not even notice; the most obvious being the fogs, rims and exhaust.
