I'm trying to decide which dual exhaust to get for my V6? I've read many forums here, and I'm still not sure what to choose. I want the throaty muscle sound. Economically, it seems the GT takeoff mufflers and the midpipe from Ford seems to be the cheapest way to go, but how does this compare to Magnaflows and JBA? Is the H pipe better than the X pipe for the dual JBA?
Well, the simplest solution for good sound, easy install and throaty is the single MRT.
For duals, I love my dual Flowmaster AT's (aka super 40's if you go the oem route). I also had dual magnapacks on my ride, both sound clips are on my site.
I had the JBA true duals on my wife car and I ended up changing the mufflers out for the magnaflows. She did not like the drone she got at 1800 - 2000 rpm. 65-70 mph. She liked the sound at first but after a while she started complaining about the drone, Even though the magnaflow is a little louder there is no drone so she is happy.
I like the sound of the magnaflows on the V-6. I am debating on them or the FFRP 5320 gta for my GT.
Mustang Enthusiast magazine just started a series of articles on the V6 Mustang. Their first mod was to install JBA headers and True Duals. Their dyno testing showed a max HP gain of 17.7 and 10 ft/lbs of torque. These were the 50 state smog legal shorty headers. You might pickup a copy it was a good read.

I just read the article in mustang enthusiast last night it was a good read. I installed the MRT single on my car but I have a lot of drone noise in the car. I was considering changing it out to JBA true duals since the article specificaly mentioned there was no resonance noise inside. But 69stang in this thread said his wifes car had the JBA's and she changed them cause of the same drone problem.
I would consider doing duals or stay with the MRT if I could stop the noise inside the car.

She has not complained at all since going to the magnaflows. I didnt think the drone was that bad but she did not like it.
I have the FFRP M-5230-GTA* on order for my mustang. Will let everyone know how they do after installing them. they are on backorder, est ship date 23 sept.
