Default 2005 Mustang Gauge Cluster Swap

Hey there. My Stang has the none IUP gauges (4 gauge cluster) and would like to upgrade to the IUP version with 6 gauge cluster.

I know that I need the three button cluster for the center dash and the new gauge plate/face with message center and my car already has the harness installed from the factory so that is a good thing.

Is there anything else that is required to complete this? Does anything need to be trasfered over by Ford techs or is this a straight plug and play swap?

I already have all the required diagrams and such and I am not squeemish about digging into my car, so not a problem there. Just hoping that all is required is the parts and we're good.

Thanks and peace out!

If you are going to go through all that work, consider investigating swapping in a GT speedo cluster so you'll have the 140 MPH speedo instead of the 120.

I thought I heard somewhere that you need to have the odometer settings transfered. So I don't think it is just a parts thing.

Seems like I heard the same thing once upon a time now that you mention it.
I'll hafta investigate that one through Ford.

Thanks for the info.

i did the cluster swap . you need the dealer to download and upload the info and you need to give them the miles when they order the replacment. also you need to let them know if you are kph or mph good luck you will love the extra goodies. also pull the blank cover out and make sure you have the wires in your harness. not all have them

Thanks for the info! Yes, I have already been into my dash (Stereo install) and already noted that I do in fact have the harness already.

Well, No that I have the info I needed, we can assume that this thread in finished...unles we turn it into some off topic rant!

Good luck indeed. I too want to do the swap, and I have the wiring behind the blank plate, so I'm all set.
But all I get are blank stares and no return phone calls or emails from any of the dealers around where I live when I ask about this.

Not sure yet, but I am going to my local dealer today after work to find out the exact prices.

I'll post again when I know more.

Peace out!

I've got the iup already, but I would be interested in upgrading to the GT speedometer...
