2007 Mustang GT: What mods other besides an intake do I need to tune for?
Hey, I'm just getting ready to order the Xcal 2 and C&L combo from Bamachips, but I was wondering about other mods, like a muffler.
I want to get a muffler too, I just don't know which one yet. Should I wait till I have the muffler to buy the combo so that they can tune it accordingly? Or does a muffler not matter when it comes to tunes?
I would rather not buy it then later find out I need to buy another tune because I changed something as simple as a muffler.

Get the CAI/tuner now. You can add the muffler later no problem. Now if you eventually change the entire exhaust (headers, true duals etc), you would likely need to have your tune tweaked some.
The C&L is great. I got my combo from Doug a year ago and he's great with support if you change anything later. The muffler dosen't need a tune. I just got duals and he told me he could tweek somethings if I wanted but it wasn't absolutely necessary. I took my C&L to a local metal polishing shop and had it polished to a high shine. Cost was $70. Just another option.

One more question, I couldn't find anything searching and I didn't want to start another thread.
I want to change over to Synthetic as I've heard it's the way to go. But my car has just over 1000 miles on it and I know that in the manual it says that the break in period is 1000 miles so I'm wondering if it would be ok if I changed it now to synthetic or should I wait a little while longer?

There's really no need to change the oil at 1000 miles unless you really want to. I'd recommend you stick with the recommended oil until she's fully broken in to ensure everything is seated properly in the engine. If after 3000 miles you want to change to syn, that would be ok.
I just finished installing the C&L Intake w/Tune from BamaChips.
First off, the service and tune from Bamachips is great, and I would recommend them to anyone.
Anyways, the install went ok, although pictures would have made it easier if I didn't do any research before i bought it.
I also ordered and installed the Plenum Cover from Midwest Auto Gear. I think it finishes the engine bay off nicely, although I still need to buy a Mustang logo of some sort to mount on the cover.
As for performance gain, well, it's kinda hard to tell exactly how much of a gain I got because the roads are still wet from the recent snowfall, but I can safely say that it's a definite improvement over stock, and from what I can feel, it was well worth the price.
One question though for those that have done this. When I am accelerating I hear kinda like a sucking sound to the left of the gauge cluster. Am I just hearing more air coming into the engine?
Here are some pics also:

Congrats... Looks great. The sound you're hearing is perfectly normal. Just the sound of the open cone.
