I noticed that 2 of the hangers point in the same direction, where the third hanger is perpendicular to the other 2. Thanks a lot.

Thats correct, you will go from three to one hanger located on the rear inboard side and one located on the front outboard side of the muffler. ALso, the bolt-on resonator or tube looking device on your stock muffler will not be transfered to the GT take-off, or aftermarket muffler.
To remove mine I unbolted the two inboard brackets completely and then lossened the mufler connector and gave it a few good twists and pulls to disconnet the exhaust pipe from the muffler inlet. Then slide the muffler off the front outboard bracket.
Installation is the reverse minus the one bracket and resonator. When your finished, inspect the clearance between the tip and bumper cover. Adjust the rear bracket as needed to obtain the clearance. If you still cant obtain any clearance inspect rear bracket is slipped into the center hole on the nmounting bracket. If you still have problems with the clearance you simpy need to enlarge the bolt hole on the vertical arm of the bracket so it allows the bracket to drop down, and use shims or washers under the horizontal arm of teh bracket and frame to get the clearance.
Takes all of one hour max. Good luck and wear safety glasses.
