Default Transmission Fluid

So I know I'm an idiot, but I was changing my oil on my 2007 and I accidentally started to drain the transmission fluid instead of the oil. It was only a second before I closed it, but could this loss of fluid be harmful? If so how can I top it off? Also which fluid should I use??? Help!!!!!!

It should use Mercon IV if it is an auto make sure u get the correct fluid not sure about the 5 speed but I think it is the same stuff. There should be a logo on the trans dipstick or tell u in the owners book. But filling it make sure the mark the dipstick level is correct for cold or hot, u can over fill slightly but not a lot maybe a half a qt is ok; but if it is a 5 speed there is a plug in the side of the trans about half the way up on the passenger side, almost centered if like the older ones, u just fill it until the fluid flows out of the hole.

It should take Mercon ATF. Check your owner's manual. Is the V6 AT sealed like the GT? If so, there's no trans fluid dipstick.

Yep... the V6 auto tranny is basically the same as the GT except for a few minor differences... like a smaller input shaft and the clutch pack is not as beefy...

There is no dip stick on the V6 auto tranny. When I had my V6 i was sought of upset to fine that many of the new cars do no have a dip stick on the Autos.

Of course, manuals do not either.
