Changing out the exhaust system would void the... exhaust warranty.
But, since you just threw the stock exhaust in the dumpster that's probably not a concern anymore.
It won't change anything with the rest of your vehicle unless something happens that the dealer can prove the new EXHAUST caused the problem.

Haha, I didn't throw it in the dumpster... I still have it just for those times I may have to go back to the dealer for something else. I prolly will go dual then. I guess just a y-pipe to flowmasters? I knew that is how the warranty worked, but I just thought I'd ask.

Stock as can be, just trying to reverse the damage the previous owner caused.

Funny,
I kept my V6 bumper and dumped the muffler and stock pipes.
Good thing, the right marker light is cracked (wasn't cracked new as far as I knew...
I just need to figure out how to get INSIDE to replace it while its attached to the car!!
Grrr.

My rear bumper is slightly deformed on the drivers side (has been for quite some time, but is more noticeable now). Not sure if it may have been bumped by another car (there are no scratches). Anyway, it's a good excuse to upgrade to the GT bumper.
I'm thinking about getting the "GT rear appearance package," (bumper and mufflers), but it will probably be awhile before I can do a proper dual exhaust setup. Is there a way to rig up the "extra" muffler just for looks, just for now, or is this a bad/stupid idea? I'm just thinking it wouldn't look right with an empty slot in the bumper.
I would think it wouldn't stay attached to the car without the 2 1/2" pipe holding back against the mounting bracket.
Maybe a muffler shop could cut a short piece of pipe and just weld it into the stock pipe.
Don't know how that would sound.
Might look a little funny when they warm up with most of the steam coming out the right side.
It would look better than a hole on the left side.
I got the same appearance package but didn't end up using the GT mufflers.
I'm saving them for my F150.

I'll probably just end up getting the bumper cover for now, and then adding the duals later. My main goal is to replace the bumper, since it has that imperfection, as well as a couple of scratches that were there when I bought the car. The dual exhaust is not a huge priority for me, but I'd rather get the GT bumper now, rather than having to replace it again later.
You might want to contact Razzi or Ebruni (sp.) as I know their lip kits are dual exhaust only and involves installing a faux exhaust tip on the driver side where there isn't an exhaust set up. They might be able to sell you some parts or whatever to hook up the muffler on the driver side...just a thought.
I'm curious, those of you that bought a bumper cover from New Take Off. (Diversified) I placed my order 05/04/07 and recieved the product 05/15/07. It was nicely packaged but scratched up, NO SIDE MARKERS, and $77. to ship. This clearly isn't the same company I purchased the take off bullitts from. just curious...

Well technically you're only paying for the rear fascia...their advertising never said that it would include the rear side markers, unless I'm mistaking. I do know that whenever they place an item for sell (well at least on their E-Bay site)...they do state that the product may have slight damage cosmetically as a result of the take off process. When I got my GT rockers from them, their was a small nicks in the paint, I just took some touch up and painted over it and now you can't tell the difference.

Maybe demand has outstripped supply, and they are hitting boneyards and yanking parts cause the market is booming??????????
Any DIRT inside bumper?
5 mile cars should show no dirt.

Well, I found a good deal on a GT rear bumper ($200 out the door, in Performance White, includes GT dual mufflers, AND it happens to be within driving distance, so I save on shipping).
A couple questions for the experts, though...
1) The guy told me on the phone that they changed the shade of performance white slightly beginning in '06, but that most people won't notice the difference. He just wanted me to know the facts. Has anyone seen this slight color difference? Is it anything to worry about when simply changing out the rear bumper cover?
2) Is there any real noticeable benefit to swapping out my stock V6 muffler for one of the GT ones, since they're included in the deal anyway?
I'm going to take a couple hours off work on Monday to drive there. They also have tons of takeoff wheels/tires in stock, so I hope I don't do anything foolish (like buying a whole bunch of stuff I can't afford).
I visited the place that's selling the takeoff GT bumpers, and picked out one that's scratch-free. They're holding it for me until Wednesday because the guy offered to install it for me, as well as the muffler (for a fee, of course, but I think it's worth it).
Here's the dilemma part, though. He's also got an entire warehouse aisle full of NEW 17" silver bullitts with Pirelli tires. His price? $500 for a set, installed! That's 4 wheels AND tires! Now, I really like the '06 charcoal bullitts better, but he only sells the '07 silver versions.
I really shouldn't spend the money, but on the other hand, it's such a good deal! I'm sure I'll be going back & forth with my decision for the next day and a half.

I think Ford should have just made dual exhaust part of the Pony package for the v6 cars. I see pleanty of other brand name cars with dual pipes that have way smaller motors than 4.0 liters. Ford needs to get with the program. Buy the way, you guys that did the duals on your v6's they look great and that 4.0 is a sweet sounding six. I've got the stock exhaust off of my GT just waiting to go on the wife's pony.
