Default Converting to GT Rear Bumper

Hi folks,

I'll be switching to the GT bumper as soon as I figure out which company to go with for take off parts.

Has anyone dealt with http://www.newtakeoff.com ?

Where do you folks get your GT upgrade parts?

There are lots of ideas as to what to get, just not as much on where to actually find it out there.

Thanks for any help,

SOHC

Default Bumper

I purchased one from v6 mustang stuff and it is very nice. I went to the takeoff site and they didnt have my color. They were very nice as I talked to a rep on the phone. Two days later they called and said my color was in stock but I ahd already order it from "stuff'. They sent it out right away, perfect fit no blems.Easy to instal but you must take the braces(s) off the original,,,by drilling out the rivets.Put the original brace on the new bumper and it snaps right in place. You do need a part. On the bumper, inthe middle,on the bottom, there is anothe attaching point that needs one of those FORD button/tabs to give the bumper some more rigidity. Looks real good, especialy with the GT mufflers

I finally did order from http://www.newtakeoff.com

Had a chat with one of their reps and ordered the "GT Appearance Package" (which includes 2 GT mufflers) and the "GT Rocker Trim".

Shipping was under $100 for everything.

Hillbank Motorsports wanted $150 for shipping just the bumper!

It pays to do your research.

I'm PSYCHED!

Got everything today from http://www.newtakeoff.com

Three days from order to delivery.

Nicely packaged.

I should be working on my ramps tomorrow night.

Gonna build the ramps here: http://www.mustangworld.com/ourpics/...amps/index.htm

The "Captain" posed with the new parts.

I also went with New Take-Offs. Had my stuff in two days. Put the bumper on in about 45 minutes and just had the Gt mufflers put on (dual exhaust with h-pipe) today.

Would having an h-pipe installed void warranty? I"m thinking it would, but I wouldn't go with the GT rear bumper without later doing the h-pipe and another flowmaster.

I cut my stock rear valance (I like it much better than the GT rear valance) To each his own.

I am about to do the exact same thing as you, but here is my question. I already have one JBA axle back on and I contacted a place to make me an H pipe and do the install. What I want to do is just keep the JBA I already have and just buy another one for the other side....but I don't know where to find one where the pipe coming out of the front (side facing the engine) is curved to the right instead of the left like the one i have on the right side. Does this even matter? I figured that when they do the install they could either just bend that pipe from curving to left to curving to the right or cut it and connect to it with the pipe they fabricate if that makes sense. Basically, is it OK to just buy another one of the exact same muffler or do I really need to find one with the attachment pipe that curves the other way? Thanks.

I would sell the axleback and buy the JBA "h" kit. That way if you have to replace something it doesn't have to be custom made.

I thought about that, but I really didn't want to spend that much. I could have it done right now for the cost of another JBA muffler plus $250 install fee (including pipe fabrication w/ H pipe and cutting out another hole in bumper). So that comes to about $400 as opposed to the $600-700 price tag for just the JBA H kit not including install. I'm just going to take it in, the guy said he would like to take a look underneath it first anyway, so I'll do that and ask a bunch of questions while I'm there. After all, a pipe is a pipe when you get down to it and I just can see spending that much more for a set of pipes.

Hey, Korey,

Changing out the exhaust system would void the... exhaust warranty.

But, since you just threw the stock exhaust in the dumpster that's probably not a concern anymore.

It won't change anything with the rest of your vehicle unless something happens that the dealer can prove the new EXHAUST caused the problem.
