Hi again.

I've been going thru all the options available vis a vis squeezing power from a V6. Stroker kits have occurred to me as a relatively cheap option. {3,000 USD}

What are the pitfalls of stroker use?

What are the advantages of strokers?

What modifications should be conducted alongside the stroking operations.?

I understand that stroking can/does lower the safe limit at which the engine can be revved- what effect does that have on power and the delivery of that power.

What are the new rev limits for the 4.0 V6, and what change, if any, will the presence of a turbocharger/supercharger make?

Is it even safe/advise to blow a stroked engine?

Performance Camshafts...should these be used in conjunction? What effect does a performance cam have when used on its own? What sort of performance cams exist for the 4.0l. In fact, what is a "performance" cam??

Ok...we'll try a simpler one....which is better, a supercharger or a tur..

What stroker kit? The only one I know of is from Tom Morana V6 racing where he says:
"Compatible for all 4.0L V6's OHV (pushrod engines only) from 1990-2001 Rangers, Explorers

** COMING SOON* 05/06 Stroker Kits and short blocks!!"

That's been up for over a year with no change or updates, so I wouldn't count on seeing one from them anytime soon. SSM says a crank for a stroker engine would be in the $3000+ range and isn't worth it.

Maybe you know of another source?

I don't see the need in dipping into the internals in a new engine unless your really into something competetive. And if you were I would assume you would know more about that sort of thing. Doing that would just make your car much less reliable, as does any modification. But internal work more so. Boost, bolt ons, and a good tune could give you tremedous power that the engine could handle on stock internals. Today I found a stage 3 T3/T4 turbo kit with intercooler on ebay for 800 bucks...all you need then is a boost controller, gauge, and custom headers and your set. Way cheaper and plenty of power.

Then why do Powerhouse want €4000 for theirs....and how did you fit/tune your turbo? Thanks!

buying a turbo pkg from an supplier is going to run you big bucks. That's why I was shopping around ebay. It's still the same quality parts, just people selling them cheap. I just found that, and havn't put it on yet, but when I do buy one I will have my local mustang performance shop do the tune. Seriously look for a good turbo kit, then look for it on ebay.

What do I type in on e-bay? "Mustang Turbo" or "Turbo" or what? Is there anissue with manifolds etc? Can I buy a small turbo that spools up fast or do I have to buy a big turbo? Thanks!!

To be honest I am new to turbo's. I know you would need a new exhaust manifold so you could feed the turbo, and yes you could find whatever you want. I would just look for turbo kits on ebay. Hopefully someone here knows more about specific turbos, or setups for our car.

Do you know the flange measurements on the Mustang and its complementary turbo??

What I mean by flange is where the intake and outtake of the turbo join up to the cars own parts. That measurement is unique to different cars and different turbos, and you need to match those measurements up. Otherwise, nada fits.

I can get no end of turbos off the internet, but I need to know those flange measurements, let me know if you know. Thanks.
