Default S197 Mustang power steering noises

I currently have almost 35,000 miles on my 2006 V6 and I am starting to notice a noise related to the power steering. The sound can be described as a hissing noise when the wheel is turned. It is not very loud but rather faint. This sound also occurs when the car is going straight which leads me to believe that it is somehow related to the power steering pump. I checked the fluid and it is right between the max and min, so I can count that out. Has anyone else experienced any noise or issues with their power steering? Thanks.

2005 with 43,000 miles here and i've noticed a hiss in the steering whenever I have the wheels turned full to one side or the other. As long as I can remember its been there since I got the car though...

I am at 38,500 and I have recently noticed that my belt slipped once in first gear just barely any acceleration and a power steering whine also but I'm still in the testing phase to find out what the noise is.

Check your fluid levels. The ps racks have a tendancy to leak.
