I could see this being a problem on some cars with the filter mounted down low but on our cars i dont see a problem. I have the Calif Dreaming ram air hood that has the air directed right to my filter. I havent driven in hard rain but I still dont see it being an issue.

I just wanted to drop an update on my CAI saga (for what its worth). I just installed a BBK on my 07 V6, and I am VERY happy with the result. It was incredibly easy to install (even for someone as dense as me), and although I dont have a HP number, I can feel a definite difference off the line. I do have a question, though. Is it normal to hear a rush of air when you turn your car off, after installing CAI? Its not real loud, but it kind of sounds like a mortor being shot (FOOMP,if thats how its spelled?) Thanks again for all the help, and especially your patience with a newbie :-)
C&L intake was definately the most trouble-free bolt-on installation I have ever done. The fit, finish, and look is amazing. I did the installation in one our campus parking lots and oh boy... it was amazing.

Stock as can be, just trying to reverse the damage the previous owner caused.

I have the T&I for my GT, run 93, and feel no difference between stock and 93.
For my gf's V6 I will definately go C&L with tune.

I just ordered the JLT CAI/X-cal combo from Bamachips last week. I liked the looks of the C&L and the things I have heard about it, but the JLT was a little cheaper and I heard a lot of good things about it too. Can't wait to get it!

The difference from intake to intake wont be big enough to notice. The main thing that varies from intake to intake is fit and finish as well as durability.
The real gain comes from the tune. Some people have dyno'd intakes without tunes and come up with no gains at all. I've already considered buying a 91 torque tune from Doug at bamachips since he's done work with the DeMolet system and has tunes written for it. You might consider an idea like this for yourself before you assume that the intake is the problem. At $479 plus $75 for a custom tunefile from Doug, you're still sitting under the price of a C&L system and you'll likely find incomparable results.
I'm a little perplexed that you don't feel a difference when everyone else i've talked to who has one says the difference is night and day, even with the TI tunes. Try flashing back to stock and do a side-by-side comparison?
