I have a question.
Theoreticaly speaking ,two mustangs exactly the same. V6 automatic with the Pony Package setup.Everything identical.Except.
one has an lsd with stock gears,the other with 3:73 gears.
What differences would you see in acceleration at various intervals.
Launch,mid range and quater mile. Also highway speeds. A lot???

I would say not much.

3.31 to 3.73 is only a .42 difference.

Without horsepower mods, stock to stock, maybe at most a second in the quarter?

Most of the guys who do gears also do HP mods.

Going all the way to 4.10 you should notice a bigger difference.

And gas mileage will drop 2 MPG or more depending on how you drive.

I kept the stock 3.31s.

well I just purchased the 3:73 gears and the T-loc from speed concepts.
I do have some mods though.Steeda CAI with SCT 91 octane tune,JBA shorties and true duals,H pipe and GT mufflers.and of course engine chrome.
Long term is FAI so I hope its a good thing.
