I have the CAI, and the SCT xCAL...with 1000 bucks, what do you guys think i can get for hp mods besides an underdrive pulley, and gears? thanks guys just looking for all those tiny things you can do to the engine..
If you still have the stock v6 muffler, get that thing off there. Its restricting a good 5-10rwhp. Also maybe an aluminum driveshaft, or if you're a manual transmission, a short-throw shifter.

Wow Sal, for 16 you sure have lots of dough!!! Anyways, go with exhaust. It sound really bad a$$ on 4.0 stangs. Sounds like a mini V8 hehe. Check out youtube and see what sound suits you. Exhaust it my FAVORITE mod. I wasn't going to drive more than off the lot with the stock exhaust. I was geting the exhaust beore I even bought the car lol. A mustang without the sound of a mustang isn't a mustang

Performance-wise, a set of gears and trac-loc are probably your best bet. Upper and lower control arms are great for putting the power on the ground. A set of GT takoff sway bars would also help with handling. The underdrive crank pulley is very expensive for the V6 and I'm not sure just how much it would end up doing for you.
It's not that i dont want them, it's that i'm already planning on getting them, and was looking for more possibilities.

Well, I have two jobs, one paying 10 an hour, one paying minimum wage, and I do the paperwork for my dads' business as well. I work every day. (not that I have a problem with it! i love to work.)
Although, when i was shopping for my mustang and realized i was 3k over budget, I had to take my last resort...
So the underdrive pulley is really gonna cost alot? damn, i went on a website and read about people who dyno'd all the things you can do to the v6, and that the underdrive pulley actually gave the most, 10HP to the wheels. That was when the engine was hot, which meant it beat out the CAI and the tunes alone for HP gains...
STL, im just looking at all the stuff you've done to that beast you call a mustang, i'm not sure i even know what half of that stuff is XD but i love how a bunch of little things can end up making a 400 horsepower vehicle, safely too, which is awesome.

Sounds like you a good hard working kid. See how hard work pays off?
Anyways I still say you should do exhaust...It will run you in the 500 range and the stock exhaust set up is very restrictive. Plus you get better gas mileage and that nice noise! I still vote on that.

You are NOT going to get anywhere near 400HP with a bunch of "little things"
