Our HR department sent out a email about a job opening in Texas, I went researching the emmision laws in Texas and found that Texas has some strange emmission laws. I dont know how hard they are enforced, Just be aware of them.
Since the V-6 mustang comes with dual cats this may not apply.....other that the backpressure statement.
A single exhaust system may not be replaced with dual exhaust unless the vehicle's manufacturer certified an identical engine-chassis configuration for that model year of vehicle or newer that includes such an exhaust configuration. The exhaust system configuration is specified by the vehicle manufacturer because engines and some of the associated emissions systems are generally affected by the exhaust system backpressure, which in turn affects vehicle emissions. Therefore, the installation of a dual exhaust system with two converters in the place of a single exhaust system would be considered tampering.

Yow!
From the same site/link, it suggests that aftermarket turbochargers are against the law in Texas?
Tampering may include, but is not limited to:
... {three bullets deleted for brevity}
Adding a part that was not originally certified on the car, such as installing a turbocharger.
Last man out, take the flag!

I noticed all of that and I am not applying for the position in TX.... its a latteral move no more money. SC is lax on anything to do with emmisions on cars. We are all relocating to Jacksonville in the summer of 2008. The Charleston Office is closing.
That would only allow Rousch and Saleen chargers.
SC's Gov. site for Emission list this info and a link to the US EPA site. You only have to worry about the FEDS.
South Carolina does not require any smog or emission inspections on vehicles. The state meets all federal clean air standards.
However, just because we aren't required to have our vehicles undergo smog and emission checks, there are still numerous things we can do as responsible citizens to help keep the air clean.
Carpool
Walk, ride a bike, or take public transportation
Telecommute
Gas your car during the coolest part of the day
Save lawn maintenance for cooler days
Make sure our engines are clean and running properly; this also helps vehicles burn fuel efficiently
what muffler did u put on after the h pipe was installed? i bought magna flows my 2007, 4.0 sounds like a 1972 chevy monza with a slight hole in the muffler.. i need good advice on what two muffles will sound decent....Help!...Bill
It's been stated before but it's a matter of preference. I had a single JBA ON THE CAR BEFORE THE CONVERSION AND LIKE YOU THOUGHT IT SOUNDED A LITTLE RICEY. I CURRENTLY HAVE GT TAKE OFFS AND IT SOUNDS MUCH BETTER. I have a 99 3.8 with dual Flowmaster Delta 50's and like the 4.0 with the GT mufflers better. Again it's a matter of preference.
There is a whole slew of different setups on there. And I agree, it's really a matter of preference as to what you may or may not like. I chose the Pypes true-dual X-pipe setup with the Street-PRO mufflers after checking out a number of video/sound clips.
I got a quote of $60-$100 to install the kit, but ran into some issues and ended up paying $120 for the install.

I'm considering duals myself, and dont have the money/time to do a GT bumper cover. Is there any danger of the paint 'spiderwebbing' when I make my cut into my current bumper? I'm reasonably certain I can do the cut correctly, but dont want to ruin my paint.
I suppose its all in the preparation. Take your time, mask off the area to be cut, make a template and draw the arc . use a fine tooth saw or other cuttung tool. Go slow if your worried about damaging the paint. Use a fine wet sandpaper to feather out the rough edges.
If that fails,,,get the GT takeoff...lol

I would assume not, as lots of people have done it and I've never heard anything about it.
And you are not working with old school fiberglass.
The plastic (and paint) is flexible.
