hey guys just bought a 06 v6 4.0 mustang, it has a single muffler and I want to dual it out with flow masters, if I have this done do I have to replace the headers or can I just dual it out with out any modifacations

You can split it at the Y with a little fabrication.

I took it to a muffler shop and he said he'll dual it out and he said he'll add another pipe next to the existing pipe, but im not sure if I'll have to mess with the headers if he does that.

No he won't... Instead of both sides getting dumped into a Y and single pipe sounds like he'll just split it apart and fabricate a new midpipe.

the beauty of that instal is the JBA shorty headers will bolt right on,at a time when you want them.No additional bending or cutting.
looks good

Looks great! Looking to do the same thing...

So I can just go to any good muffler shop, and get this done without buying a kit or anything first? (I already have the lefthand GT muffler).

And how much did it all cost?

yep any good muffler shop should be able to do it,,cost...$150- $200.

I have heard its easy to cut the stock V6 bumper to make room for the exhaust tip.some people have used a CD as a template to draw the semi circle. just measure and cut.
I was chicken and ordered the takeoff bumper

$150-200? All the shops I called said $250 for the exhaust and they wouldn't touch the bumper. I'm going to save my mooooney and cut the bumper myself, then i'll price shop to get my H-pipe and left side built.

I bought the bumper from Diversified. I bought the mufflers and mid pipes on e-bay. (after cat) I took it to Meineke and was told $200. I was happy since I didn't have the H or the hangers. I was quoted $37 a piece from Ford for the hangers and could never get a straight answer on the qty. (2-4) They called me an hour later and said it was more custom work than they expected and would be $280. Previously I had this done on a 99 and the cost are similar.
