Default 2005 Mustang V6 clutch problems

Has anyone else out there had problems with their 2005 v6 5speed mustang clutch. Mine went out at just over 24,000 miles on it and it cost over 900.00 to get it replaced. the car had been to the dealer 3-4 times due to the fact that it was that it was hard to shift at times. Still don't think it correct, at time you can't get it into reverse or go to the next gear while driving.

Welcome aboard... If it was defective why was it not covered under the OEM warranty?

It is a daily driver and it was taken to the shop 3-4 time becaus eit was hard to shift. the clutch finally went out with around 24,000 miles on it and we were told by Ford that it was out of warrany and that there was nothing they were going to do as far as warranty work. they even tried to say that maybe it was being raced!!!
Please a V6 stock!!! If we were going to do that we would have gotten a V8!
If anyone has heard of any transmission problems with the 2005 -2007 I would appreciated hearing from you.

I thought the factory warranty was 3 years or 36k.

Yeah, sorry, they are screwing you over. The dealership can't just speculate and say that they won't fix it. Call the manager and talk to him, if you get nowhere, call the regional manager through Ford's hotline. The car is covered under warranty and you've made no modifications to the car (even if you did, it would have to be linked to the clutch failing). I really do dislike the tranny in the v6. It's not a smooth shifting tranny (especially from 1st-2nd, notchy as heck), and it is loud and annoying. I think Ford knows they messed up throwing this 5-speed tranny in there, but now some places keep trying to avoid working on them. My dealership is getting on my nerves by avoiding even fixing it. I'm taking it in there and talking to the tech personally. It's going to be either fixing thumping noise or getting me another freaking clutch/tranny.

PS: I LOVE my car, don't get me wrong, but if the GT's tranny has less noise, I'm going to consider selling this and getting a GT.

sorry to hear about your problem. mine is hard to get into reverse and first at times, and my trans is loud as well. anyways the reason why they didnt fix your clutch under warranty is because clutch's, like brake pads, rotors, etc are a friction component are considered normal wear items and are only covered for the first 12 months or 12,000 miles.
