Default 2005 Mustang V6 Gas Mileage With CAI

Yeah, yeah. I'm just full of questions this last day. You can tell I'm putting an order together .

How does putting a CAI on affect your gas mileage? I'm looking at the JLT because I've heard that the plastic tube dissipates engine heat better than the C&L aluminum tube when your moving. I know you have to tune for it or the engine runs lean so I'm assuming that you lose a couple mpg.

Thanks much.

I have the JLT CAI and can tell you that it actually helped my mpg quite a bit. At least 3-4 mpg I'd say. More power AND better gas mileage, what have you got to lose, eh? Other than around $600. It's worth it.

I've heard too that the plastic tube is better with heat, but I've also heard that the air in the tube doesn't stay in there long enough for it to really matter much. JLT and C&L are both great, It think its pretty much down to the look and price you want.

Gonna order one. Hope Doug at Bamachips has a sense of humor. My 3 tune order with the xcal2 hasn't even arrived at my door yet and they're already gonna be out of date.

To tell you the truth... I think my foot just got heavier with the tunes... so, mpg is the same.. .but there is improvement when I'm nice to it.
