I am having a problem that just started. The car would not start last night so we left in the store parking lot. Went by at noon today and the car started and ran fine the rest of the day. She was a restaurant tonight and aga in it will not start. I first thought maybe vapor locked due to the heat in the 100+. Don't think so now. Please help she starts back to college at the end of the week.

Had a problem real similar to that on a Ford Aerostar (Yeah, I know. It's a goobermobile minivan) a few yrs ago. Sometimes it would start, sometimes not. Sometimes all I would get is the solenoid click. Ended up being the starter motor going bad. On that vehicle it cost about $80 with a core charge and 15 minutes to swap it out. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the response. Went by last night and it tries to start but acts like it is not getting fuel. Went by today at lunch and it wouldn't even turn over or click. Tried a universal code reader on it and got "error". I am told a ford will can not be ready be a universal reader.

I'd hate to have you try it and me be wrong, but it's sounding more and more like the starter motor.

Anyone else out there have a similar problem where it was something oddball or different?

Almost forgot. Check the starter solenoid too.

I've run into this before. Try pushing the fuel reset button underneath the drivers side dash. It will be in the "wall" to the left where your feet are. Also, disconnect the battery and let it sit for 30 minutes then reconnect and restart. The first time you go to start it after reconnecting the battery it may not start on the first attempt, but it will on the second. That fixed my issue with it anyway. It's worth a shot. Are you still under warranty?
