Default 2007 V6 Mustang red line?

Not that I'm thinking of taking my car to red line..

but I have some curious questions. Will the car (5 spd) let you redline?
and is that red line the actual redline, I know ford likes to put it red before it's really red. haha.

But more in terms of safety if I run first too hard I don't want to fly into redline and have some problems.

thanks

The rev limiter is above the red line. Not sure exactly where on the V6 but probably a couple hundred rpm.

6000 rpm and it will trigger your check engine light.

Why does cause a light?? It should just cut out until revs get below the rev limiter.

I think when you exceed the rpm redline marked on the tach, it triggers the dash light. Sometimes, mine triggers, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes it later goes off by itself. No clue on how Ford programmed it.

Default Light?

I've never seen a light and I've bumped against it a few times. It must be fairly close to redline. It happens when I am enjoying the acceleration so much I forget I have to shift! It feels like the engine is going to die.

It's hard for me to tell when it triggers. The rpm's spin up so fast in 1st and 2nd gear that I have to stare at the tach and quick shift when it looks like about 6000rpms and the shift light comes on. I don't have time to look at the boost gauge or the dashboard other than the tach. I just notice that sometimes afterwards that the check engine symbol is lit. I have hit the limiter once (I wasn't staring at the tach) and in this case the check engine was on afterwards.
