Hey guys, I bought a second-hand Flowmaster American Thunder Series muffler for my v6 Mustang but I haven't been able to get it on yet. I've already toyed with swapping mufflers when I got my GT Take-off, so I know how to do it, but the pipe that comes off the muffler and connects to the over-axle pipe wont slip over the over-axle pipe like it should. It seems to have 2 small indents in it where the former clamp was, and that seems to be the place where it gets stuck when trying to put it on. I've already thought of trying to heat it up before installing it, and already tried WD40, any other ideas?

May need to visit an exhaust shop and have them put them on a pipe expander just a touch.
i tryed to do it my self but on the driver side i run in to some bumps with the Flowmaster AT's I took it to the local exhaust shop and thay cut the muffler and welded it on heres a video go to this site
Sorry I should have posted here after I got it fixed... I took it to a muffler shop and the guy put it in a pipe expander. About 3 seconds later I left the shop with the fixed muffler and a new clamp. Cost me $3.
After that it slid right on.
Sounds BITCHIN'!

i had a fllowmaster exhaust put on about 2 weeks ago on my 2005 automatic and at first was having a vibration from the hangers. i took it back to the shop and had them put on some different hangers and that vibration was fixed, but now at low rpm's such as idle or backing up i get another vibration in the actual car rather than the hangers. any ideas?
Thats kind of weird... To me the Flowmaster is pretty mellow as far as vibration and drone go. It doesn't have any more drone at highway speeds (65-80) than my GT Take-off did. I would say get another person in the car while you're driving and find the rattling noise. Then Dynamat.
