Default 2005 V6 Mustang Dual Exhaust Question

I currently have Flowmaster "true duals" on my V6, and I just purchased a Pypes v6 After-Cat X pipe for it....

Pypes Performance Exhaust - Crossovers

It is a slice in pipe, should this application work well for my Mustang? Everyone I seem to ask thinks it will do no different for my sound or HP, since I have a true dual system already installed. I was just wondering what this would do for my performance and sound, and if this X pipe will work since I have already installed a dual exhaust system. Thanks!

I have a similar setup on my car... I love the sound. As for hp, I don't know. But, it is definitely a good buy.

Hiya and welcome. Glad you joined us.
I don't know why it wouldn't be a worthwhile buy.

For the 2005+ v6 mustangs there is typically no performance advantage of having a true-dual set-up over a good single exhaust. I wouldn't imagine that having an X-pipe over an H-pipe would make much difference either, in that case.

Actually we were just discussing this in college auto tech last thursday, and several of my class mates agree that if you get an X and heat and clamp it to an oval shaped piped, it should get more air going through it even though it's the same displacement values. Oval seems to push it through quicker allowing the engine to breathe better. Thus increased Horse power, of that is just a theory until we are able to test it. And by theory you'd want to heat both sides get an oval shape clamp at least a foot in length, otherwise you're gonna be at it for weeks. But yea, theories seem to work 6 times out of 10. So if he oval pipes, it should displace more exhaust from the engine itself and increase it's horse power by about I dunno 4-7 hp
