Default Feel the difference: Hurst Competition/Plus Short Throw Installed

Well I finally got my Hurst Comp/Plus installed and I can't believe I straddled the fence for so long about it. It shifts GREAT, and the throw is far smaller than I expected. Installation wasn't bad once I got the stock shifter out, and I had no problems getting the Hurst to go in.

Now I want a black ball for it... The white one looks out of place.

Either that or i'll get the stick that is threaded for the stock shifter...

I went back with the stock stick and the throw is a little shorter.
You can order the stick from Hurst for $28 p.n. 2380050.

I may have to order a black Hurst knob and the stock stick. I like the Hurst look a lot (with a black ball) but i've been jazzed about the stock shift knob since I got the car. I just think it looks so cool.

Where can I find the stock stick for sale?

You can get it from Jegs but it's cheaper from Hurst. I think the thread pattern is different on the stock stick so the black ball may not work.

No, I didn't figure that I could use the black ball on the stock stick. I was thinking that i'd leave the black ball on the chrome Hurst stick that came with the shifter and periodically swap it for the chrome Hurst stick with black ball.

Ain't it great!!! I was on the fence for a while as well...I should have done it much sooner than I did.

When I put mine on yesterday, I noticed that the stick was in the upper left hand side of the shift boot and when in 1st and second gear it was almost rubbing against the edge of the console. After studying the stock shifter for a few minutes, I realized that I had connected the shifter arm to the linkage backwards causing the offset to be on the wrong side. Today I turned it around and now it shifts even better than before!
