Default 2005+ V6 Mustang ... Has anybody changed their throttle body?

I was at JBA today getting my tach installed, in my 2006 V6, and almost bought a Grannatelli throttle body too. I don't know if I'm going to have problems with it, so I'm wondering what throttle bodies other V6 owners have tried. I especially want input from anybody who has a Grannetelli.
Do I need to do any tuning with a throttle body? They tell me no. It should bring about 22HP in my mid range and 11 peak and the computer will compensate for everything, but they also said they've had to put stock throttle bodies back on a couple of GTs and Cobras after trying the Grannetelli. They've had no problems on the V6s so far.

Default Rephrased question.Has anybody changed their throttle body?

Has anyone changed their throttle body? If so, did you have any problems with it and what kind was it?

I changed to a Loki 70mm tb. Pretty easy to do and no problems. Don't think I got much of a power gain but it looks great.

Default Gas mileage?

Thank you for your input. It was days before anybody has even responded to any of my T body questions. What this means is that not many people have done this. Very few actually and after this weekend, I can see why. I put the Granetelli on Saturday. I could smell strong fuel every time I started the engine. I took my car to get retuned on the dyno the following Monday. I had 226 RWHP and 265 TQ before. The first pull Monday morning showed 205 RWHP. The 2nd showed 215 RWHP. I lost 11HP! It was running too rich. They leaned it and tuned with about 7 or 8 pulls that morning until they finally got 223 RWHP out of it. My TQ went up to 269 and earlier in the power range than before. My A/F ratio is back to normal now.
This Tbody cost me over $500.00 and it looks as if I gained very little. It does look cool on my engine too. The biggest gain I got out of this is the MPG. From my house to where my kids live, and back, was always little more than 3/8 of a tank from the full mark. I drove out there last night and noticed I went from 3/4 to 1/2 when I got home. There seems to be potential for this thing to pay for itself eventually. I'm burning less gas to acheive the same thing at 75MPH in cruise control. I've always used my cruise control every time I make this trip since I got a speeding ticket last December, so I believe I have a pretty good analysis here. I didn't get the 11 HP increase (manufacturer's claim) I was looking for, but I did get something else. I take what I can get. Next time I make this trip, I will be sure to start from the full mark to see exactly what I'm getting.

I have a MMR 70mm throttle body, but I have a supercharger as well. The intake tubing is going to determine the maximum airflow so opening up a stock setup with a throttle body is not going to make much difference. Adding a CAI (which it sounds like you have already) will allow a better match of thottle body opening to intake tubing size. I added one because the supercharger (and CAI) is pushing a lot more air flow into the engine, but even then the gains would be slight.

I have a new throttle body by Zabteck. The body is a reworked stcok unit supposed to be close to 70mm,,,68/69 ,all by honingout the opening and reworking the butterfly valve. some others have used them and say is good for about 5hp conservatively. This unit is "complete" swap and go. No need to change parts from one to the other ,as some require. The thing cost $300 shipped. I have installed a supercharger along with it and am waiting till the spring to really check it out. The whole combination really works great.
Check it out,,,Zabteck
