Default 2007 V6 Mustang... Looking to dual exhuast my Mustang - Need some input!

Ok, for the past few weeks I have been contemplating put a dual exhaust system on my v6 Mustang. I have come to the conclusion that I am going to, but I am not sure how to set it up for maximum noise and performance.

I was looking into putting a JBA H pipe with borla stingers on it, seen it on a youtube vid (i know), and it sounded pretty good. Later, after more research I found one with a custom H pipe and Flowmaster AT and it sounded better. I don't know if it was video quality or what. I love the drone of the car, so I want to get a set up that makes it sound the best.

So, what I am getting at is I want a system that will make my Mustang sound as muscular and loud as a GT.

Look around the V6 section... Lots of discussion on this. Plenty of options and lots of experience to draw upon.

You're not going to get a V8 sound out of your 6 but I have heard a number of really good setups.

There is my setup with the American Thunders and a custom h-pipe. This video does not do it justice. I have had so many people think it is a gt its not even funny and it makes me proud. I dont know how the other option might sound but this one is amazing.

I like the drone and rumble of the exhaust when idle also. I'm new to this stuff really so I'm exactly sure on everything

I would get a custom h-pipe from my mechanic when he is install the exhaust. Sorry for the noobness.

Default Pypes Setup

Where did you get your Pypes conversion from? How much did it cost to cut into the stock pipe? I was going to go with RPM for the setup, but according to the BBB, they have screwed a lot of internet customers, so I'm not sure where to buy this from now.

i went with the Pypes PYP-SFM68V the package is 329.00 but i would say throw in another 100 for shipping, and i had a local shop install it for me for $75. I got it from RPMoutlet, and like you, i was very scared to order from them. Instead of ordering online make a 5 min PHONE order. From what i have been told, the phone sales is a completely different operation than the one online. I have nothing poor to say about RPMoutlet in my 1 experience.

Almost any aftermarket dual exhaust will make you louder than a stock GT.

I have Pypes true duals with Street Pro mufflers (I guess not as loud a violators - I'll have to watch the vid above when I get home).

They are 97dB at cold idle (a jackhammer is around 80dB).

WOT they have got to be over 100dB (jet plane is around 120dB).

Here is an example of quiet cruise 50 to full throttle and 80.

Tons more vids here: Putfile - SOHCman's homepage.

Enjoy!
