will sct or diablo tunners be affected by recall, mods or other things to where you have to get them reprogramed to your car. i ask this because my dad had a superchips tunner on his ford pick up but after a factory recall his tunner wouldnt work with his truck so when he called they said they would have to reprogram the tunner and it was like 200 bucks so he didnt bother using it anymore. is sct or diablo tunners like this for there tunes
i know through sct...if they find a problem, you can upload your old settings and download the new ones via the internet and the usb cable that comes with your tuner. ive had mine for 3 months and so far no problemo.

The tuners* burn a code into your computer in your car, which voids warranty on the newer trucks and I believe cars too. I have heard SCT is better than Diablo but I have also heard that you should find out what the shops can work with around your area.
You may find some information using the Search at the top of the forums. There have been tons of other posts about it, might be easier to just read them instead of wait for replies to your topic. Just throwin' it out there
I tuned my V6 before I traded it in a few months after I got it. It was a great mod and showed tons of gains. The only problem was I was paranoid to bring it in to get service or anywhere near a ford dealership because of it. They CAN find out if the PCM was accessed and if something major goes wrong (god forbid) with your car then they will have NO problem fighting with you about that being the cause of it. I have my tuner from my V6 I traded in ready to go the day that my warranty is up. Until then Axleback exhaust is all I will risk.

Huh?? Not true. The battery going dead has the same effect as a tuner. Unless you tell them, they'll have no idea if you did anything.
Yeah, definately not true.. When i was worried about this with my GT's warranty.. i asked STL and everybody and they told me about the battery going dead trick.. When i brought it in for a fix under warranty, they had no idea i had touched it... and covered it..
It doesnt burn a code into your computer.. They wont be able to see what you did as long as you put it back to stock..

An axleback--no... Now longtube headers would be a different story.
I am going for the following on my 07' V6:
CAI/Tune
Shorty headers
Exhaust
I understand the whole retuning to stock for service. But does that mean I have to remove my CAI and/or headers prior to taking it in for service? Thanks

Probably not but my dealer would not cover any engine issues with long tube headers installed. It varies from dealer to dealer.
I called around all the ford dealers in my area and they gave me the same answer to mods. Example: I said I had a ford racing differential I wanted to put in my 2006 v6 stang and he said that if ford is installing it, it will not void my warranty on the rest of the car but anything to do with the rear axle is on me.
