Question 2005 Mustang V6 Convertible New Battery ?

I have an 05 V-6 Convertible with 40,000 miles. Car basically is two years old and the battery died. Ford relaced it with an 84 month battery. The old battery is two years old and new battery is warranted for 7 years. Does this make any sense ???

Could be....How many times did you put the top up and down without the car running? The top beats the snot outta the battery! What was the reason the old battery died? Open connection, wouldnt hold a charge etc....

Default Dead battery

The battery in my vert died this summer, only 18 months old. Rarely put the top up/down without the engine running. But I also live in AZ where the heat beats the snot out of the battery. My last Motocraft battery lasted about 3 years out here (98 vert).

It took an arm and a leg to get the dealership to change it though because it would past the load test, but wouldn't hold a charge. They told me that they couldn't replace it because it passed the load test. I told them to fully charge it and keep it overnight, after it didn't start for them in the morning they caved and gave me a new battery.

I also have a 99 vert. Original battery lasted 7 years. Rarely put the top up/dn in either...
