Default How much of a horsepower increase with new Flowmaster?

Okay, now that I've driven my V-6 with the Flowmaster single exhaust a while, it feels like it has a little more "spunk," and the wife noticed it too....About how much of a horsepower increase would any of you guys in-the-know say it gained?

That ride is clean man nice job.

As far as the HP gain I would have to agree. Just remember that the stock mufflers are extremely restricting so I'm sure you can feel the extra hp a great deal. Good luck with them.

The V6 can actually pick up as much as 10 rwhp from just a muffler change. Talk about a great mod!

Some advertise 5-7% increase on HP...

Bone stock = 174 rwhp
C&L - CAI + 93 canned tune + JBA axle back = 207 rwhp

Get duals. and order the pipes off the internet... Or else you are gonna end up bending pipes all day long trying to get the perfect fit like I did. I started at 11am and I didn't start welding until about 6 or 7.. but she was ready for a late night spin to wake up the neighbors.

Dual exhaust has shown incredibly insignificant gains over a good single performance muffler, on the 2005+ v6 Mustangs. I've got the Flowmaster American Thunder on mine and love it. At first I went from stock to a GT take-off and then to the Flowmaster. When I switched to the GT muffler, I felt a very nice increase and a little more increase after going from the GT muffler to the Flowmaster.

A lot of places claim a lot of different numbers but 10rwhp is ballpark for a muffler upgrade on these cars. They've been dyno proven to show as high as 16rwhp increases on some cars though.

WoW, man, if I got 10rwhp outta my just installed Flowmaster Am. Thunder single exhaust on my '06 V-6 then I am more than happy! It really feels like it's got more over stock, but just how much is kinda hard to tell....

What you are feeling is torque, not HP. you won't feel HP until the top end.

Dual exhuast don't do much for the V6 it is a waste of money if you are looking for performance, it looks nice but as far as increase in HP it really does not increase it by much, go with a CAI with a tune that will give you a nice HP increase about 40HP.

There is no CAI/tune combo that's going to yield 40hp on either car.
